Young Women’s Leadership Network supports two life-changing programs that enable youth from low-income communities to achieve their highest educational potential and to break the cycle of poverty: The Young Women’s Leadership Schools (TYWLS), a high-performing network of all-girls public schools, and CollegeBound Initiative (CBI), a school-based college guidance program for young women and men. The Director of Corporate Relations will oversee an active portfolio of current and prospective-corporate partners. The Director will build and maintain partnerships consisting of marketing and sponsorship opportunities, philanthropic grants and employee engagement activities. Reporting to the Managing Director of Development, the Director will be responsible for a $600,000-$700,000 annual fundraising goal, managing and stewarding our Corporate Leadership Council-(a group of executives on track for possible board membership with a set of individual and group goals), and collaborating with the Managing Director of Marketing and Communications to secure event scholarships.

To be successful, the Director must be a creative, strategic thinker with the ability to develop mutually beneficial relationships with partners, a self-starter who is solution oriented and possesses a proven ability to generate revenue and be able to identify new opportunities and leads for the organization.

Primary roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute plans to manage and grow current corporate partnerships and new relationships.
  • Execute creative strategies to provide funding, branding, visibility, and employee engagement opportunities that are mutually beneficial for both corporate partners and YWLN.
  • Oversee the Corporate Leadership Council’s fundraising, networking, and volunteer activities to ensure members are fully engaged and achieving fundraising goals.
  • Maintain an on-going relationship with current funders to impart YWLN news and communications, ensuring consistent contact beyond funding discussions.
  • Lead meetings and liaise with corporate funders.
  • Write and submit letters of interest, proposals, and other forms of funding requests to corporate foundations and Corporate Social Responsibility departments within stated deadlines.
  • Support prospecting by staying current on business news, attending events, networking and continually researching industries, companies, and corporate leaders who show potential to support YWLN programming and mission.
  • Work with the Managing Director of Development to leverage Board members and high-net worth donor relationships to spark corporate giving and engagement opportunities.
  • In collaboration with the Managing Director of Development, set ambitious yet achievable long-term revenue goals for corporate partnerships.
  • Continuously track funding and document communication with corporate partners and prospects in the donor database.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and execute communication strategies that promote and publicize corporate partnerships as needed.
  • Work with data, program staff, and other key stakeholders to write and submit reports to corporate funders.
  • Work with YWLN program staff to ensure corporate partners receive quality engagement opportunities with schools and students.
  • Develop and execute corporate giving strategy for YWLN events and milestones.
  • Identify new partners through research and collaboration with development team members.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Corporate experience a plus. 7 years of successful relationship building experience, preferably in fundraising or sales.
  • Comfort working with corporate employees at all levels, including C-suite and senior-level leadership.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with experience giving presentations and public speaking.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with the use of Salesforce or comparable Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Passion for YWLN’s mission and programs.

Compensation:

  • Competitive/commensurate with experience.
  • FLSA Status: Exempt.
