Director of Development at Florida Rights Restoration Coalition

This is an opportunity to partner with a renowned leader in rights restoration for returning citizens, named one of the most influential people by Time magazine, and is highly networked and regarded throughout the state and in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to grow and diversify revenue from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and the legal community
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to leverage and position them to capitalize and expand on funding opportunities
- Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, and corporate partners
- Work with board members to enhance their fundraising engagement and network development
- Build a culture of philanthropy across the organization
- Lead major gift cultivation, grant writing, and sponsorship acquisition efforts
- Manage fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, Giving Tuesday, and end-of-year initiatives
- Oversee special events, including in-person and virtual fundraisers
Communications & Marketing
- Oversee external communications strategies, including website, social media, and newsletters
- Ensure consistent brand awareness and targeted outreach to expand FRRC's reach
Operations & Compliance
- Manage donor database, track metrics, and provide regular performance reports
- Ensure compliance with funding requirements and nonprofit regulations
- Maintain accurate profiles on Charity Navigator and GuideStar
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to provide annual departmental budget projections to the Executive Director
Qualifications
- 4+ years of nonprofit development experience, preferably in social justice or advocacy
- Proven track record securing multi-year national grants and developing multi-channel funding strategies
- Experience with sponsorship solicitation, event planning, and major donor cultivation
- Proficiency with donor management systems (ActBlue and Salesforce preferred)
- Digital marketing expertise, including brand development and communications tools (Canva, SendGrid, HootSuite, Google Analytics)
- Strong relationship-building skills across diverse constituencies, including donors, staff, and board members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to both strategize and implement detailed fundraising initiatives
- Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally on occasion. This person may be required to use their automobile for business, carry auto insurance, and have a current driver’s license.
Compensation and Benefits
This hybrid position is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated senior leader to join a highly respected and rapidly growing organization. FRRC offers a very attractive compensation package with a base salary range of $100,000 - $115,000. In addition, FRRC will provide a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, employer match on 401 (k) contributions, pre-tax transportation benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time off.
